WEEDING

An Urban landscape project

An old saying advises, “one year’s seeding, seven years’ weeding.”

Weeds are an integral part of the urban landscape.

A plant can be regarded as beautiful or noxious, but if it is growing where it is not wanted it is regarded as a weed.

Weeding is the removal of any undesirable or troublesome plant growing in the wrong location.

Weeds are everywhere. Weeds will always return, so weeding can be quite a useless activity.

Even though I know weeds will most likely return I enjoy the act of weeding.

By weeding just a section of a site, underlying patterns can be exposed. Its almost an archaelogical dig with cigarette butts, dog turds and other detritus being part of the experience.

Some sites are more visually interesting than others.

Weeding advice.

Try to pull the entire weed out not just the top, or it will regenerate.

The roots are easier to pull out when the soil is moist.

Always keep a tool for weeding and a bucket handy. Page site under construction
